Evaluation of Puberty Onset in Salmon Breeders

Evaluation of Puberty Onset in Salmon Breeders

We conduct assessments using high-quality ultrasound imaging to detect the onset of puberty in breeders of various salmon species.

By applying advanced techniques, we establish qualitative and quantitative parameters to identify early maturity development in males and females.

Benefits

Early Maturity Identification

Detects puberty in salmon early.

Reduction of Production Losses

Minimizes losses in the production process.

Resource Optimization

Efficient use of resources and management of breeders.

Better Planning of the Production Cycle

Enables efficient adjustments to the production cycle.

How We Do It

Before using ultrasound to assess puberty onset in salmon breeders, we developed correlations between qualitative and quantitative ultrasound parameters to evaluate puberty in different fish species.

However, these methods are often invasive, costly, and slow, making them impractical for widespread use.

We built these correlations from a large volume of data and situations, which allowed us to establish detailed procedures for sampling and data analysis.
