How We Do It
Before using ultrasound to assess puberty onset in salmon breeders, we developed correlations between qualitative and quantitative ultrasound parameters to evaluate puberty in different fish species.
However, these methods are often invasive, costly, and slow, making them impractical for widespread use.
We built these correlations from a large volume of data and situations, which allowed us to establish detailed procedures for sampling and data analysis.
